Around lunch time, I realized that I had nothing cooked for my 11-month-old, so I needed to make him something quick. Since I have a ton of carrots in my fridge (my 3.5-year-old and I love to munch on them during the day), I decided to make something that would include carrots.
Mashed Organic Carrots and Pear
Ingredients
- 4-5 organic carrots
- 1 organic pear
Instructions
- Wash and peel the carrots.
- Cut the carrots into bigger pieces and place them in a smaller pot.
- Wash, peel and core the pear. Cut the pear into bigger pieces and place in the pot with the carrots.
- Add 1/2 – 1 inch of water to the bottom of the pot.
- Cover the pot and cook on high until the water starts boiling, then turn the heat down and cook on low until carrot is soft (10-15 minutes depending on how big the carrot pieces are).
- Mash or puree.
- Feed baby when cool enough.
- Freeze the unused portion, or store in the fridge for no longer than a day.
