Make Your Own Peanut Butter

Recently, I have started to make my own peanut butter.  I wanted to be able to control what is in our peanut butter since I give it to my daughter every day and it’s important for me that it be as healthy as possible.

Ingredients:
1½ cups (organic) unsalted roasted peanuts
1-2 tablespoons oil (for example, peanut oil)

Directions:
1. Pour the peanuts into the food processor and add oil.
2. Process the mixture until quite smooth.
3. Store the peanut butter in a sealed container in the fridge. It should be good for up to 2 weeks.

  1. It seems pretty simple and yet I never ever thought about making my own Peanut Butter. Thanks for letting us know.

Is that really all that goes into homemade PB? Waaaay to good to be true. I got a giant food processor recently I haven’t used yet and could totally tackle this! For creamier PB do you use more oil?

  3. Nessie says:

It is very easy, but it does depend on how good the peanuts are.

I’ve also added honey to my homemade peanut butter. It was yummy!

Emi, you’ll have to play with the amount of oil you add a bit. I didn’t really follow the recipe closely. I just add enough oil until it looks good to me :D

And thank you for the awards, Emi!
